Overview

Nestled in the heart of Paris’s 15th arrondissement, Annapurti offers an authentic Indian dining experience that captures the essence of home-cooked flavors. Located at 69 Rue de Lourmel, this restaurant stands out as a cozy yet elegant spot for those seeking the richness of Indian cuisine far from the subcontinent.

The menu showcases classic Indian dishes with noteworthy highlights such as the fiery Poulet Vindaloo, the creamy, comforting Chicken Curry, and the rustic Aloo Paratha. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, reflecting traditional recipes that resonate deeply with patrons craving genuine tastes. Alongside the savory options, Annapurti’s desserts and beverages, like the Glace Au Lait Indienne and the refreshing Eau de Rose Lassi, add a delicate balance to the meal. The inclusion of subtly spiced sides like Sauces, Mangue chutney, and aromatic Riz Basmati elevates the dining experience without overwhelming the palate.

Reviewers consistently note the homely quality of the food. Ramvirender Narwal praises it as "like home food," endorsing the restaurant to fellow Indians in Paris—a testament to its faithful culinary representation. Ted L highlights not only the authentic flavors of popular dishes like Butter Chicken and Saffron Basmati Rice but also applauds the serene ambiance, enriched by soft Indian instrumental music. This atmosphere invites quiet conversations and thoughtful enjoyment, ideal for diners looking for a relaxed yet refined setting.

The space is described as clean and well-organized, with cultural touches that pay homage to India, creating an immersive environment. Dr. Arvind Yadav finds the vibe uplifting and appreciates the care in maintaining Indian cultural elements throughout the venue. While noting minor differences from the original Indian experience, he still regards the food as good, underscoring the restaurant's balanced approach to authenticity and local adaptation.

The family-friendly aspect surfaces in comments about attentive service, especially towards children, making Annapurti suitable for both intimate dinners and casual family outings. Palanivel TS’s review marks the biryani as a standout and the hostess as accommodating, reinforcing Annapurti’s reputation for warm hospitality. The subtle critique regarding the ambient lighting may reflect a European aesthetic preference but does not detract from the overall inviting feel.

Annapurti is well-positioned to attract Indian expatriates, Francophiles eager to explore Indian cuisine, and any food lovers seeking rich, flavorful dishes in a welcoming atmosphere. Its blend of authentic flavors, gentle ambiance, and genuine service crafts a dining experience that connects patrons to the heart of India, right in the middle of Paris.

Amazing biryani. The hostess was lovely and very nice to my young child. Food was great and authentic in taste and flavouring. Lassis were a bit of a let down, but everything else was great. Highly recommend it. Ambient lighting could be enhanced.. Seemed a bit subdued, but could well be a French thing. Will visit again if I am in the neighborhood.
